Project Description

In the fond of icons of the Medieval Museum of Korça (South Albania) there are two very interesting icons of the All-Holy Theotokos, exhibited at the exhibitrion titled “All-Holy Maria” which ran in the Museum from 24 May to 16 August 2021. The icons, works of Constantine the Hieromonk and John Tzetiri, are interesting from two perspectives: first, because they represent the All-Holy Mary as a monther in differenty phases, pregnancy and with the Child at hand. Second, because of the witness these icons bring on the migration of artists and ideas. In this paper I shall try to underline some of these aspects.
